Dr. Adriana Lia Friszman holds a Master’s degree (1993) and a Ph.D. in Education (1997) from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where she currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development and Rehabilitation at the School of Medical Sciences.
Over the past decades, her research projects have primarily focused on public policies and practices in health and education, particularly concerning various groups, with an emphasis on people with disabilities.
Her work is grounded in an approach that closely links social practices and policy, emphasizing that understanding the history and principles behind policies and practices is essential for generating and analyzing knowledge. The outcomes of her research have significantly contributed to improving existing policies, informing the development of new ones, and supporting the implementation of innovative practices.
Dr. Friszman's research spans a wide range of topics, including inclusivity across different levels of the Brazilian education system, inclusion through employment policies, healthcare services, and intersectoral policies.
