Sol Mora (Argentina)

Dr. Sol Mora is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Relations at the School of Politics and Government, National University of San Martín (UNSAM), Argentina. She is also a Researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). She holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from FLACSO-Argentina and a Master’s degree in International Cooperation and Integration from the Center for Studies on International Relations and Regional Integration (CERIR) at the National University of Rosario (UNR).

Her research focuses on Chinese infrastructure projects, land governance, food systems, and the dynamic interrelations between society and the environment. Her doctoral research examined Chinese investments and financing in Argentina’s infrastructure and agricultural sectors, with a particular emphasis on land governance. She analyzed how power relations surrounding land in Argentina have shaped the implementation of Chinese projects, and conducted innovative research on the environmental and food security controversies sparked by these investments.

Currently, she is expanding her scope to investigate the broader global implications of Chinese financing on food systems, with a specific focus on the China–Argentina relationship. Her work draws on interdisciplinary approaches, combining insights from international political economy, agrarian studies, and political ecology.
