The University of Campinas – Unicamp is a public, tuition-free university funded by the State of São Paulo, Brazil. It was officially established on October 5, 1966. Although considered a young institution, Unicamp has already developed a strong tradition in education, research, and services to society.

  

Unicamp has strong undergraduate and graduate programs covering a wide range of areas in science, technology, health, humanities, and arts. Also, Unicamp is responsible for 8% of the academic research in Brazil, 12% of national graduate courses, and the leadership among Brazilian universities in terms of patents and the number of articles per capita published annually in journals indexed in the ISI database / WoS. 

  

The University has approximately 34 thousand students enrolled in 66 undergraduate courses and 153 graduate programs and it operates in four campuses located in three cities: Campinas, the Main Campus with eighteen schools and colleges; Piracicaba (the School of Dentistry); and Limeira (the School of Applied Sciences and the School of Technology).
